Signed up, looking forward to this. Now I gotta think of a design.

Contrary to what the NEXT RACE board is stating, this race is TOMORROW = TUESDAY.

Also 13 laps, not 12! We are racing both forward and reverse.

I've tested the 22B last week (boy, the race comes up fast when it's weekly) and I was able to run 13 laps easy. Evo? I guess some testing needs to be done but I'm pretty sure you'd have to take it easy or pit.

Just a time zone technicality. 9pm eastern is 2am over there, making it "Wednesday" according to our site.

I tried the Evo last night, both forward & reverse. It is a tough track for the Evo because of the fast corners (understeers big time). Evo can run faster but the line has to be more precise than the 22B.

Given the nature of the track I found no opportunity to save fuel.
Tue 16 Aug 2016, 18:09
What about track limits? I know the last turn (the first one if touring going in reverse) is significantly banked. If the limits are between the walls, then is that part of the track?
Tue 16 Aug 2016, 18:19
I agree. I was just going to keep it between the walls. Use all the road just not the walls.
Tue 16 Aug 2016, 20:02
There are indeed several locations where there are paved track outside the 'limits' where one would receive a !.

I cannot force you to stay within the limits (we all go off track occasionally) but I do ask all GSR members to race honourably within the official track limits and refrain from repeatedly exploring the other side . . . ESPECIALLY with the intent of gaining an advantage.

Thanks for the clarification Charlie. lol

At the moment I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the races tonight or not.

Congratulations to TopSoCalledGear on picking up his 1st career victory in round 3!

Race 2 was a lot of fun at the end with BCK! Such a shame in the first race when your own MBI teammates try to screw you over by invite bombing and calling you. I guess the "I" in MBI is true after all! ;)

Congrats Top on the win, a few more laps I would of gotten you lol!
Wed 17 Aug 2016, 16:08
Thanks much. Ya you were really quick there at the end. That first win is sweet, but its all about getting the next one. I don't want to end up like Pastor Maldonado, a one win wonder lol.
Wed 17 Aug 2016, 16:36
Congratulations on the win, TSCG! You had the hand of destiny last night!

Overall, very good races! Not as colourful as other races due to lack of flips.

REMINDER FOR NEXT RACE AT MONZA:

Race 1 is at Monza Normal = Has front straight chicane
Race 2 is at Monza Alt = NO front straight chicane (makes Curva Grande a risky 1st corner)

As for the FM track limits at Monza . . . the limits in chicanes are rather 'liberal'. Given how we raced last night I doubt we'll have a controversy at this track but making it clear that we should not be taking advantage of the exploitation weakness.

Updated 08/22: had race 1 and 2 backwards. What was I thinking/smoking?

Do driver points for this series count for points in driver rankings?

Absolutely.

Update to the # of laps. 12 laps instead of 13 original (to be honest, I calculated the laps instead of actual testing).

I've seen some names already up on the Rivals LB!

Upon testing, I know 22B comfortably can do 12 laps @Monza Normal on 1 tank of fuel. Alt takes less fuel.

I know Evo can do minimum 10 laps @Monza Normal and 'maybe' 11 on Alt. 12 laps on single tank will require a lot of short shifting (not even sure if this is possible).

Monza Alt 1st corner (Curva Grande) is VERY exciting!
Tue 23 Aug 2016, 05:05
Evo can do 12 laps with very early shifting.
