2017 Global Endurance Championship (PC & FM)

In 2014, it took Wagon/Dave/Blonde, Carter/Macace and Insayne/Woody/Nightmare 36 hours to earn the right the be called champions. In 2016, it took SECR (Copper/Marko) and SamKel (Samson/Maverick) 48 hours to earn that same right. We won't know until December who will add their names to the list of GSREC champions; but we do know it will take them a record 54 hours complete with all of the countless euphoric highs and crushing lows that come with multi-class P1 & GT racing on 6 of the world's greatest endurance race circuits.

Grab a friend or two (or drive solo if you have no friends) and get behind the wheel of one of today's finest LMP 1 or GT3 cars for the ultimate test of endurance.

This championship will again take place on both FM and PC, with 3 races taking place on FM (Daytona, Nurbugring and Road Atlanta) and 3 taking place on PC (Silverstone, Le Mans and Spa). This year, Silverstone will replace Sebring and Spa has been extended from a 6 hour to a 12 hour event.

February 11th - 12 Hours of Daytona (FM)
April 22nd - 6 Hours of Silverstone (PC)
June 10th - 12 Hours of Le Mans (PC)
August 12th - 6 Hours of Nurburgring (FM)
October 14th - 12 Hours of Spa (PC)
December 16th - 6 Hours of Road Atlanta (FM)

I'm willing to team up with anyone in GT, Prototype or DeltaWing (Forza only). Last season I figured out going a solo was the 2nd worst life decision I've made.

I'm pleased to announce First Capital has signed an extension with Toyota to continue running the #8 TS040 as a full season entry in the Prototype class.

I'm planning on doing the 6 hour races solo, but would like a 2nd driver for Daytona, Le Mans and Spa.

When GRD signed on to drive with FCA in 2016 his contact did include an option for 2017. As such, he has Right of first refusal to exercise that option. (I hope he does exercise this) If he chooses not to exercise said option I will begin accepting applications of interested drivers for the position of 2nd driver for the aforementioned 12 hour races.

Interested applicants would first need to post a $1,000 (Canadian) non refundable deposit, then travel to FCA headquarters in Kingston, Ontario to battle it out with other applicants in a hard boiled egg eating contest, as well as assist in various chores and errands.

(Travel and accommodations would not be covered by First Capital Autosport)

Assuming Forza 7 releases in the fall like they have done for the last 4 or 5 games, will Road Atlanta take place on there?

This is in the hopes that they actually add dynamic weather and day/night transitions.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Forza 7 will probably be a release title for the Xbox Scorpio.

We will play the transition to FM 7 by ear for now.

Ah finish it off on FM6 . Gives less pressure for people to get FM7 straight away and we get to give FM6 a good send of to the big video game shelf in the sky .

I haven't been asking around the GT garages much yet; but based on a few chats I've had with some Prototype teams it already looks like we will have a strong field. My rumor mill..

FCA - Returning full time with 2nd driver for 12 hour races

SamKel - Sounds like Samson and Maverick are planning on a full time entry to defend their championship

Kay Motorsports - Australian funding fell through; but looks likely Dakinca and BCK are working on something...perhaps bringing in a 3rd driver with deep pockets?

Quimera - Looks likely the boys from Costa Rica and Chile with at least 1 car; perhaps 2.

Ardent Racing - Dead Arm has announced his intention to return with a full season effort. Unknown if he is planning solo or if he has a driver or two up his sleeve...

Premature Acceleration - Things have been pretty quiet lately...

GT:

SECR - Despite some confusion earlier in the week, it does appear that Copper and Marko will return to defend their GT championship. Their championship earnings from 2016 should ensure they have the extra money to field a "B" car again.

MBI - The 2014 GT champions and first half of 2016 powerhouse team appear to have more questions then answers surrounding them this off-season. It's unknown if they plan on entering in 2017, or what that lineup would look like.

PFM Racing - Charger has announced an indefinite hiatus. Only time will tell.

420 - One would think Smokez and Speedfreak are working on something...though it's unclear if they will be working together.

VMB - Haven't spoken with any members directly recently; but Bullitt and Throwaway are both staples of GSR. If they decide to stick together a solid 3rd driver would immediately put them in the GT mix in a big way.
