South East Coast Racing are glad announce that today they have signed a deal to become part of the Audi Motorsport Program for the 2018 season with the option to extend it for a further year.

This means that S.E.C.R will gain access to arguably the two most sought after cars on the worlds race tracks being the LMP1 R18 Hybrid and the Audi R8 GT3 car.

For GSR the decision was made to move up to the LMP class with the R18 for the 2018 Endurance series in a 3 driver team of Copper Nuts08 , MrMarko1100 and Audi Veteran Dead Arm Tzar.

The team will also be getting full use out of the R8 GT3 car in other series and leagues that are yet to be announced.

Which car number will you guys be using? (2 or 3. 1 is not available)

Kriegsmaschine Autowerkes will be running the #16 RWD LMP1.

Very proud announce that Manthey Racing is joining forces with Kriegsmaschine Autowerkes under their banner for a joint LMP & GT effort in the fast approaching 2018 GSREC season.

Nice to see more competition in prototypes, but are we going to have a GT field?

Lock it at 6 lmp 6 GT first to sign up gets it , or how every many is going to be in the lobby just half it, or just have a qually the weekend before 1 driver from each team , fastest 6 in lmp the rest to GT

I like the idea of locking the prototypes to 5-6 cars. Need at least 4-5 GT cars full time to have a serious battle.

Or just a huge series of LMP1 cars running endurance races if there’s no GT cars

Shhhh, we haven't signed up yet and we already have 4 prototype teams on the entry list.

Different idea. Team sign up deadline a month before round one. Divide total my 2 to determine how many p1 and GT3 cars then randomize the clsss and car. Endurance racing isn’t the same when it’s not multi-class.

The problem comes after round one and attendance inevitably drops and then people are upset driving cars/classes they don’t want with few others in the same class.

Entries are limited to 8 per class.

How many teams ran the entirety of last season?

I don't expect GT3 entries to be an issue. I'm just looking at the members list and at a glance I'm confident we will see at least a few entries materialize from this list:

-MBI?
- Thor & Mystic?
- Blaze says he's working on a GT entry
- Throwaway & Collie?
- Smokez?
- Charger?

THR will more than likely be fielding a GT3 team as well.

XCiTe Racing is currently negotiating with manufacturers and sponsors for the 2018 GSREC. An announcement will be made in the coming days as to what car we will be fielding. As for the drivers, we will have myself, Mystic x Block and soutie1 but an official announcement will be made soon.

I like the qualifying idea . Weekend before for a 30 min session with a single driver or even use time trial and teams submit the time to an admin or something between two set dates .

But if you do the qualifying session it brings in the advantage of streaming it . Make it a podcast special with interviews etc aswell . Create a bit of hype and buzz around the event

After some failed driver negotiations, SamKel is going to continue Audi’s legacy for the 2018 season with the same line up. Looking forward to all of the new competition on track.
